I only have 3 hours of sleep but I had a great feeling of attending the first night of Simbang Gabi. The moment I heard the alarm clock, I rushed into the bathroom and get ready for the first Simbang Gabi. I admit that I felt sleepy during the ceremony but the joy of being there has kept me alive all through out. There are many people who attended the mass, and just like them, I'm also hoping that I could be able complete the nine mornings... =)
Well.. here are random facts about Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo according to priest who officiated the mass.
- Simbang Gabi is held in the Philippines only. The head of the Catholic church has allowed us to celebrate and prepare for the birth of Christmas in 9 mornings.
- Simbang Gabi is about preparation, offering and thanksgiving. Many people believed that when they completed the 9 mornings, their wishes will come true.
Eight more days to go...
UPDATE:
Sorry for the late greetings. I got mixed up with so many things to do and parties to attend to. I completed the nine mornings but I was not able to attend the Christmas mass. =(
Anyways, I'm just so happy that after 10 years I was able to do what I really wanted to do. And that is to complete the Simbang Gabi.
Thanks be to be God and Belated Merry Christmas to you all!
