Google Translates The Results of my Searches to Filipino (Tagalog Words)

Sometimes, it's kinda annoying but most of the time, it's funny. How Google translate the results of my searches in Filipino is indeed confusing... Well, at least just a few words. To see what I'm talking about,  here's the screenshot. The results caught me between the "kaba and nerbiyos" and it's really "nerbyusing". I got really confused. LOLs!

Do you do your search in Google?

Most people don't know how search engines work when they perform their searches. For those who are clueless on how it's happening, here's a video from Matt Cutts (an engineer in Google) for the explanation.

For people who understand the search engine world, this is just a basic but for those who have question marks on their forehead... this can be a significant knowledge. =)

What Does Google Suggests on "My father is..."

On June 20th, all women will commemorate the first man they've ever loved. It's Father's Day and just like you, I'm as equally as excited to celebrate it with my tatay. Just like on Mother's Day, I tried to search for phrases that starts with "my father is..." in Google and see its suggestions.

Indeed, search results never cease to make me laugh...

Google Translates Wikipedia - the Free Encyclopedia to Filipino

It's a good thing that Google initiates to translate web contents and search results to different language. While I was searching for Amelia Earheart, I clicked the Tagalog translation of Wikipedia and I smiled. See below why.

There are actually times that I would search the search engine for nothing. More often than not, it is giving me great and cool results. As I've said over and over again, I'm truly fascinated with the search engines designs and its history. Thus, this Internet Archive site will certainly take you back in time with your favorite sites. I shared it with my friend and he just run Google. This is what we found.

since I became aware of the search engines, I became more fascinated with their styles and frontpage designs. I've featured some of Google's cute designs and I was actually waiting for something from them this independence day but instead I found Yahoo. here's their kewl independence greetings!

Blackle – An Energy Saving Search

Blackle is the newest search engine powered by Google that can literally save energy. Independently own by Heap Media, Blackle was launched last January 2007 and now available in various languages such as English, Portuguese, French and Italian.

Following the custom search system of Google, this SE is actually “based on the fact that the display of different colours consumes different amounts of energy on computer monitors.”(according to Wikipedia) The creators of Blackle made a thorough study and experimentation on a variety of CRT and LCD monitors. And so they found out, that an all black screen consumed less energy than the all white screen.

Although powered by Google, Blackle still lacks of some custom features of like a Google Search. It doesn’t also provide the same results as a Google Search. Some are also confuse on lack of clarity regarding the type, size and manufacturer of monitor that the power usage claims refer to.

According to Media Heap, an estimated of 750 megawatts-hours a year can be saved by using Blackle.
