Just this morning, I together with my two sisters went to Quaipo to attend a mass. It's Palm Sunday. This is also my first time to attend a mass in Quaipo church. There were too many people and we were positioned at the door when we got there. We got a chance to move inside when some people decided to leave at the mid of the mass.
After the mass, people started waving their "palaspas" or designed palm leaves. I'm just so glad that I was able to take a shot of this scene. Anyways, while waiting for the priest's blessings, my elder sister began asking me, "why we are doing this?" To my surprise, I smiled and whispered with a little uncertainty, "actually, I don't know". When she asked for the second time, I told her, "we are dramatizing the entry of Jesus Christ before". And that's it. I think she's quite satisfied.
I admit, it was an impromptu question. I know the answer but suddenly, I became uncertain about it. So I looked for answers in the internet and I realized that my answer is not enough. According to About.com,
"On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection. For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.
The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him with waving palm branches, and by covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.
he biblical account of Palm Sunday can be found in Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; and John 12:12-19."
So I'm quite correct with my answer but not so sure about some part of it. Now that I reviewed my lesson, I think I will never forget it the next time someone asks me the same question. =)

7 Wishes Candles
Yesterday, my family and I went to Antipolo to have our new van blessed. It was really hot outside but it's worth the time since we were able to attend the mass, bond with each other and pray.
Last week was one of the most devastating weeks I have. Unfortunately, last Wednesday was also my birthday ~ which I celebrated a little then done a lot of crying. It was a roller coaster of mixed emotions and I'm just so happy to finally release all the pain I'm feeling yesterday through prayers. It was a relief, I guess.
So enough for the sad stories because I want to share the 7 Wishes Candle I bought at the front of the church. I don't usually light candles. Well... it's not actually my thing but due to my desperation to solve all the problems that I have, I decided to buy one and lift up everything to God.
I got the chance to take a shot of these candles just before I light them. Here it is.
Here's the meaning of every color:
white is for peace
green is for money
pink is for health
orange is for brightness
red is for life
yellow is for good spirit
violet is for material wealth

Just Visited St. Claire
For the last 5 years (I think!?), my best friend and I have been visiting St. Claire Monastery in Quezon City. It began when I graduated in college and started looking for a job. It was actually one of the toughest times of my life. My second elder sister told me that we can go to St. Claire, offer eggs and write our petition. Without having second thought, we decided to go. I must say that most of my wishes came true - including my bestfriend's.
Last Sunday (Easter Sunday), we visited St. Claire again. I have wishes but most of the words in my petition letter are "thank you". I including my family have been truly blessed. I'm not a solid Christian but I believe that God has really blessed me. And through St. Claire, I believed that she's helping me with my petition. I don't believe in miracles - everything happens for a reason and in God's time. It's simply all faith. =)
I took a shot of St. Claire Monastery because I wanted to share and spread the news with you. Here are some of them:
This is where you write your petition and offer the eggs
Sunday Mass schedule ~ for those who are interested. =)
Ssshhh... they are praying...
Some Trivia
1. This church doesn't hosts any wedding event. =(
2. What they do with the eggs? They eat and give it away.
3. Why eggs? not sure...he he he
