Lucy Torres Exposes Truth Behind Yolanda Relief Efforts

This is a very firm and elegant way of a woman exposing ugly things about the government. Kudos to Lucy. However, these things are open secrets and known to every Filipino who knows that dirty politics reigns in the Philippines. I doubt there'll be changes anytime soon after this expose. Credits to the owner of the video.

Arcan Ville and Regghie M. Orpiada

They're speaking the Filipino language but seems they belong to another planet. With an evil mind and heart, they already got what they ask for - fame! Yes, you two will be forever remembered for your evil and heartless tweets.
And as a reminder, "Be careful with what you wish for!" Karma is now digital and God is always watching.

Note: I actually contemplated for a while about posting something about these two disgusting creatures. I was asking myself if they are worth my time then I realized that referencing them through my blog archive and be forever tagged as a disappointment to the Philippines especially to their families is worth of my 5-minutes.

How Can I Contact DFA for Passport Questions?

This is really disappointing and annoying! The Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines offers several channels to contact them. They have a website, a Facebook Page and several trunk lines. But I can't reach to them!

I was on the phone for 15 minutes waiting for my call to be picked up! Imagine how much I can do with such time I wasted waiting on the phone. No one answered!

So I rushed to the Internet to find their plugged Facebook Page on the phone call waiting, Liked their page and then realized that there's no way to send them a private message? Duh?!

So I then went to their website and try to send a mesage via their contact form and they only have this option?
So DFA, do you have a Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr or a working email? argghhh....

This is my first time to renew my passport and I hate to accept that I have to go through these discoveries after five years. All I want to know is a confirmation that I will not need this requirement:

This is stated on their website under Renewal Passport - https://www.dfa.gov.ph/index.php/2013-04-04-07-00-11. Their listing is kinda' confusing and I would like to personally hear that this is only for first time minor users.

Aliens who acquired Filipino citizenship or applicants with foreign-sounding family names (e.g. LIM, CHO, SY, LEE, SAMADI, SINGH, etc.):
  • Bureau of Immigration Identification Certificate
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Election of Filipino Citizenship / Oath of Allegiance
  • If necessary,
  • Marriage Certificate of parents (duly authenticated by NSO)
  • NSO Birth Certificate of applicant or applicant’s brother or sister
  • Anyone who knows?

Philippines During the 1960s

The Philippines is so clean and beautiful during this time. I was born in 80s and in my selective memories, it's almost the same as before. We're living a simple life then and don't have idea about EDSA revolution. I'm 32 years old now and the changes have been really drastic and just like others who have experienced and seen the Philippines like in this video, I'm asking a question, what happened to our country?

Watching this film gives me mixed emotions - a joyful feeling, envy to the people who have lived this era and regrets. It's true that you'll never know the importance of an event or things until it becomes a memory. Good thing, these memories of the Philippines have been captured in video.

God Bless the Philippines!

Everybody has shared their thoughts about the Napoles & pork barrel scam issue in social media and even in barber shops at sa Tindahan ni Aling Nena. Every tax payer has something to say. Our nation's reaction to this situation has proved that we are all getting matured in handling things such as these. Lahat tayo nagkaroon na ng pakialam.

With everything that has been said and done, let's all pause for a while and feel God's presence, of how much HE wants us all to learn and to keep learning. My piece is a short prayer for the Philippines and for all of us who are seeking justice and transparency. Let's continue to show our love to our country by keeping the spirit of togetherness to fight those people who only think of themselves.

We lift up everything to you, Dear Lord. May you bless the Philippines especially those who are in position to make things right and just.

The Filipino Doll House

First, this photo is not mine and I would like to give credits to its owner. I saw this somewhere and thought of making a blog post of it. I find it cute and I somehow felt hurt with this fact describing how a Filipino doll house should look like. This is very Filipino... Pilipinas!

Bruno Mars Family Reunion in the Philippines

I know this is kinda' late but I just spotted this on Facebook. While watching, I would always remember the face of Bruno Mar's mother on Philippine TV during an interview when Bruno had his concert here.

I just can't help but feel sad (though we're not related). I suddenly felt excited to think how happy his mom was when she came home (in the Philippines) before she left the world. Watching this video made me love Bruno Mars more and proud to be a Filipino too! He is! Why should I not be?!

Philippines Named ‘Most Stupid Country to Elect a 20-Year OJT as a Senator’ by Time Magazine

I can't tell anything more but please, I did not vote for Nancy Binay, no! Ha ha ha!

Reposted: Ninoy + People Power - Is this the truth?

I like history and this video has made me more interested to it. I've seen this twice on Facebook but I never had the chance to share it through this blog. I'm sharing this because this is something that we, Filipinos should know - what's happening on the the other side while we are glorifying the people who led the EDSA Revolution. Were they deceived? I don't know!

I was born on 1981 and in my some vivid memories, I remember how financially well we are, how clean the surroundings are and how simple life is. I was 5 years old during the first EDSA revolution and I don't have memories of it. I recall how my Nanay tells me stories about them during the early years. It was envious. Somehow I'd like to live in that years and experience their prosperity.

This video is not Marcos propaganda, read the title, its all about what media is not telling us. After 25 years, it is now obvious that Cory administration is more violent with more journalist dead in her 6 year term compared to Marcos' 20 years. She also suffered 8 coup attempts which is a reflection of her administrations rampant corruption.

The MASS MEDIA, especially AbsCbn and Inquirer, is doing their best to cover up the incompetencies of the new Aquino president. Pretty much the same with what they did to Cory's presidency. This video will show FACTS that mass media is trying to silence through the years.

This video is a RE-UPLOAD since the powers that be hacked and removed it recently from Youtube. Proof that someone or some group is trying to HIDE the truth. Please spread the message: Marcos is the least suspect in the Ninoy assassination and that only 2% of the 1986 philippine population attended EDSA People Power. Lets end filipino ignorance, it ends NOW.

This Filipino Visual artpiece is created, authored and directed by a conservative Filipino citizen, residing in the Philippines. The director/author/owner of the video does not intend to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate his fellow Filipinos or any particular Filipino individual. We are not promoting hatred, violence and discrimination towards our own race. Nor do we promote stereotyping and denigration against any Filipino Individual.

The objective of the director/author/owner of the video is to promote an intelligent and civilized discussion about rectifying the flawed provisions of the Philippine's 1987 Constitution. Provisions that promote a protectionist government where only a few number of rich families benefit while the entire populace of the Philippines is mired in POVERTY, MEDIOCRITY and constant SUFFERING.

The opinion of the director/author/owner of the video is similar to the opinion of a growing number of disillusioned Educated and Enlightened Filipinos who simply wants to elevate their quality of life and get rid of poverty in our country once and for all by freeing up the economy and attracting foreign direct investments that brings job opportunities to the people. The 1987 constitution is responsible for restricting progress in the Philippines for 25 years. The 1987 Constitution must be rectified. This rectification movement must be supported by the people. But first, the people must be informed. Hence the very PURPOSE OF THIS VIDEO.

How True is This? Philippines is owned by a Single Family

I just came across this video that narrates about the Philippines being owned by a single family "Tallano". It was just published last month and has few views as of this writing.

The last part of the video looks promising. But I just bought a lot here in Manila... and based on this video, I could not be a legitimate owner of it. Now what?

PhilHealth Goes Digital

This could be another installment of my post about the Philippine government taking the advantage of the new technology. I just discovered that PhilHealth enrollment is now digital. Yes! no more long lines when you apply and enroll as new PhilHealth members.

PhilHealth Online Enrollment Facility
Here's the link to enroll in PhilHealth online. https://eregister.philhealth.gov.ph/
They also offer several other online services, you may visit http://www.philhealth.gov.ph/services/ for more details.

Online Social Security System (SSS)

Social Security System Philippines

Well, the online inquiry for Philippine SSS or Social Security System has been around for years already. If my memory serves me right, I signed up for it 5 years ago. The online facilities of SSS offers inquiry on premiums (contributions), a loan calculator, status of your claim, previous employment records and other information that you can ask from an over the counter personnel. It's very useful and can truly save you time.

Registration is easy. Access this link https://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/member.jsp and supply the required information. For those who have registered already, you can access your account here -- https://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/login.jsp

I'm a voluntary member now. And I usually pay my contributions in banks personally. But now, I found a better and easy way to do this using Metrobank Online under the Payment Bills option.

Pay SSS via Metrobank

I believe there are other online facilities where you can pay your SSS contributions. No need to wait in long lines. I'm really glad that the Philippine government is now utilizing the advancement of technology. I just hope that these facilities are secured. :P

What's up Philippines?

While everyone's busy on CJ Corona's trial, ordinary people are also so busy looking for money to fund their daily living. And I'm not an exception. I have a good and high earning job but I can feel the intense effect of the "getting" high cost of living in the Philippines. Oh c'mon... ordinary Filipinos and now includes the middle class are suffering for God sake! Can't you see?

Early this morning, I bought M-Gas, it's now 830 pesos. Used to be 450 pesos way back before. argh.
Yesterday, I paid Maynilad. My last month's bill is 1,000 Pesos. I just paid Php 1,652.17. argh!
Last month, our Meralco bill is Php 5,000, now it's Php 5,600. argh!
and the cost of diesel? Should I mention it here?

What the heck? I'm not saying we did not use these services, but of the same consumption... why it became high so suddenly!

My gosh, I can't even think that our airports are charging for terminal fees and what do we got? We have worst airport in the world.

Hey Philippine officials... it's time to come out from your air condition houses and cars. Lumalabas lang kayo at nakikita nyo kami kapag election eh! Tuparin nyo naman ang pangako nyo...

A Louis Vuitton House, Literally...

I came across this image from a facebook timeline and it says that this Louis Vuitton house is in the Philippines. I'm still not sure but looks like it is!

Filipinos really love LV... I wonder if there are Gucci's or Hermes' house too! :P

EX President Gloria Arroyo MugShots Leaked

I'm not sure if this is authentic but I got the images from ABS CBN website - the ex president Gloria Arroyo's mugshots taken at St. Lukes Hospital last weekend.

Not sure if I will feel humiliated for her but I strongly believe that this is a violation of the right of the suspect. Remember, she's not yet proven guilty. And I just feel that the case Electoral Sabotage, though I'm  not a lawyer is one of the hard to prove cases.

Let's all verify if this is authentic later in the news!

Land Registration Authority Online Inquiry, Insecure?

I'm planning to go to LRA to verify a land title that I recently purchased. Someone actually fixed the papers for us and I've already checked it in the Register of Deeds in our municipality. Nevertheless, I would still like to verify it from LRA.

So I got into their website looking for the contact number and process for verification when I came across this banner.

which leads to this link - http://125.22.35.139:8080/TransactionStatus/. I would like to try this one but kinda' hesitant on where it will lead me. First, the IP address is being used instead of a domain. I firmly believe that non-techie people should be able to read the LRA website, atleast and not this series of numbers. Secondly, the page should be forced to use secured network simply because the information being asked are somewhat or can be sensitive. I know that the government is doing its best to expedite the transactions and provide a fast service to the Filipinos and that's being appreciated.

BUT and a big BUT, I hope that by doing so, the government or even the IT department handling such important websites of the Philippine Government will realize that it's not acceptable to compromise the security of their users. If they are not that sure about the security of the page, better not to link it anywhere within the site. Minsan, naiisip ko kaya naha-hack ang mga website ng government because of such small security holes. Not good!

Top 10 Reasons Why There Couldn't Be a Filipino-American President

I just dug a funny yet true top 10 list in one of the episodes of David Letterman show. It's also interesting because as a Filipino, all the listed reasons makes me ponder and think.. oh yes, they are somehow true!
